Weekly Faceup #5

This week is all about Kieran.

His previous faceup was nice, but it hasn’t aged well. Besides, I prefer to paint my dolls myself — it helps me better understand their character and the mood they convey.

Now, Kieran. His sculpt is so unusual to me. Most dreaming dolls have relaxed mood, sometimes proud and noble. But he doesn’t look dreamy, proud, confident, or gentle... he’s just so introverted and a little odd.

After washing off his first faceup, I realized why his skintone is called 'pearl white.' His head has a tiny white shimmer in the polyurethane. So cool. I’ve decided to give him a slightly more stylized look, with white fantasy tattoos, veins and graphic brows. I’ll also add a bit more shimmer to his face.

If he's pass 'testing period', Kieran is going to be Thaire’s brother. I’d planned a brother for her a long time ago, but I hadn’t found a suitable doll. I think now I can try. Time will tell.

I'm not really sure about chin tattoos; I'll probably remake him at some point. But for now, let's see how he performs.
