Aneirin's new face
Share
My current approach to my hobby is to focus on one doll at a time, dedicating all my attention to this doll for one to two weeks. Last week, it was Aneirin's turn.
Aneirin joined my collection in 2015. Here’s how he looks when he arrived.
I have chosen a Rhytmos body for him, as I believe this body is both elegant and classy. Aneirin's character is a half-elf, and I want his appearance to reflect this. The Rhytmos body was perfect for him.

I also really like his gloomy face.

Next, I painted him, adjusted the eyes, and at that time, Aneirin looked like this:
Something felt off. To me, he seemed more capricious than cynical or, well, dangerous.
It worked as a temporary solution at the time, but if you're into this hobby, you know how "temporary" solutions tend to stick around forever.
I went on a long hiatus, and Aneirin stayed the same. He had this fancy golden eyeshadow and a black-blue anime-styled wig that felt completely out of place.
So, it was time to give him a bit of a glow-up. I repainted him with a new faceup that's much more fitting for his character.
He isn't a noble guy, he's a guy from the streets. Aneirin's life was tough and he gets into a lot of troubles. Somewhere before he join Brannin's band he also lost an eye.
His current face-up isn't perfect, and the scar technology definitely needs development, but I really like how he looks now. He feels much more 'Aneirin'- like. =)
